Lift with the next version first.
Plus One is built by one lifter, for lifters. Before each update reaches the App Store, a small group trains with it for two weeks and tells me what works and what doesn't. Do that properly and the year of Pro is yours.
of lifting
Four steps. Two weeks. One honest review.
No free codes on request. Pro goes to people who use the app and tell me the truth about it.
-
01
Apply
Tell me how you train, what phone you lift with and why you want in. Takes about two minutes.
-
02
Get picked
Each round takes about 15 lifters with a mix of phones, languages and experience. If you're in, the TestFlight invite goes to the email you used here.
-
03
Lift for 14 days
Log every workout in Plus One and work through the round's test list. Report bugs as you hit them, straight from TestFlight.
-
04
Earn Pro
Fill in the day-14 check-in and you get a code for a free year of Plus One Pro on the App Store version.
What you give. What you get.
You give
- 14 days of real training logged in Plus One. Your usual workouts, not a demo.
- Every item on the round's test list tried at least once.
- Bug reports with a screenshot whenever something looks wrong.
- A check-in on day 14: about five questions, answered honestly.
You get
- Early access to every new feature, weeks before the App Store.
- All of Pro free for as long as you're testing.
- A free year of Pro on the App Store version when you finish.
- Pro for life for the tester whose feedback changes the most, each round.
- Your name in the credits on this page, if you want it there.
What to try in 1.1
Try each of these at least once during your two weeks. Tell me where you got stuck, what felt slow and what you'd change.
- Supersets. Pair two lifts in a workout and run a few rounds.
- Create an exercise. Search for a lift that isn't there and make it.
- Share a workout. Try at least two card styles, as an image and as a video.
- Voice logging. Say a set out loud mid-workout. Does it get it right?
- Export your log. Settings, Export workout log. Open the file.
- Apple Watch. If you have one, run at least one full workout from your wrist.
- Your language. If you speak Spanish, German or Portuguese, use the app in it for a few days.
Two places. That's it.
Bugs: screenshot in the app
Take a screenshot while using Plus One, tap Share Beta Feedback, and add a sentence about what went wrong. TestFlight attaches your phone, iOS version and build for you.
Opinions: the check-in
On day 14 you get an email with about five questions: what you loved, what almost made you quit, what you'd pay for. Finishing it unlocks your year of Pro.
Before you report it: already fixed
These are fixed in the current build. No need to send them in.
- Rest audio glitches
- Dynamic Island layout problems
- Pop-ups were hard to read in light mode
- Bodyweight lifts swapped a logged 0 for last time's weight
Where Plus One is going
What's shipped, what's in testing now and what's being explored. Testers get a say in what moves up.
-
Launch
- A target for every set: one more rep, or the next weight
- Workouts that run on Apple Watch alone, phone in your bag
- Programs, routines and a recovery check
- Ear breaks: rest cues that lower your music
- Import from your old workout app
-
Speaks your language
- Spanish, German and Portuguese, voice logging included
- Supersets with one rest per round
- Pictures for 330 exercises, 40 new ones, and create your own
- Share a workout as an image or video, six card styles
- Export your whole log as a CSV file
-
What could come next
- Train with friends: a small group, a shared feed, a weekly board
- Paste a workout log from your notes and have it read in
- More languages
- Whatever testers keep asking for
Short, fair and the same for everyone
- Use the email your Apple Account uses, so the TestFlight invite reaches you.
- Log your real training. Two weeks of actual workouts is the minimum.
- Keep unreleased features off social media until they ship. Telling friends you're testing is fine.
- Check the fixed list before reporting. Something that's already fixed doesn't count as a report.
- Be blunt. "I didn't get this screen" helps more than "looks great".
- No check-in, no Pro code. Life happens, no hard feelings, but the code goes to finishers.
Apply to test
Everything here helps me pick a group that covers different phones, iOS versions, languages and lifters. Picks go out by email.
Application in.
Thanks. If you're picked for round 1, the TestFlight invite goes to . Sending this form again with the same email updates your answers.
Before you apply
Will I lose my workouts if I switch to the TestFlight build?
No. The TestFlight version installs over the App Store version and keeps your data and iCloud sync. You can go back to the App Store version at any time.
Do I pay for Pro while testing?
No. Purchases in TestFlight are test purchases, so every Pro feature is free while you test and nothing is charged. They don't carry over to the App Store version, which is what the year of Pro is for.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. An iPhone on iOS 18 or later is all you need. Watch owners just get one extra item on the test list.
Why ask about my phone and Apple Intelligence?
Some features depend on what your iPhone can do. Knowing who has which phone and iOS version tells me what to test and what to build next.
How are testers picked?
For a good mix: different phones, languages, units and training experience, and answers that show you'll actually use it. If you're not picked this round, your application carries over to the next one.
How do I prove I used it for two weeks?
You don't need to send anything. TestFlight shows me which testers opened which builds and when. Just train as usual.
